Catching Up!

Sorry I have not posted in a while..been extremely busy with life and all that good stuff...
Mardi Gras is over, Thank GOODNESS! Even though we had a wonderful time, it was still exhausting. Now, what to do with the 20 lb bag of beads we have accumulated???
The floors in the house are going in good, still would Love to sell our house and upgrade, but not so sure where we will be come May! May be moving back to the Bham area, I know the KIDS would love it!!
Baseball is about to get started hot and heavy, we have had practices for a couple weeks now. Our family fun day is March 14th, which I am coordinating this year and want to make sure everything is just perfect. Its been fun coordianting all the activities and vendors so far... I hope it turns out to be FUN for all.
Jordan is going to do Track and Baseball this year, that should keep up extremely busy too. Gavin is just doing Baseball, but that is plenty! I hope to take some pictures tonight of our first scrimage game. Its going to be a lot of fun! I cant wait!
Well, until next time... Peace Out!

Mardi Gras - Parades & Balls Oh My!

Its that time of year down here in the deep south. The weather is unpredictable, the mail boxes and doors are decorated with purple, gold, and green, and Toomey's business is booming.
Yep, its Mardi Gras, and we LOVE IT! Thursday night the family and I will be heading to downtown Daphne to see the Apollo Mystic Ladies Roll. Saturday night Chad and I will be attending a ball in Orange Beach with some friends at the Mystics of Pleasures. I cannot wait! It will be like a fairy tale night out with my prince.
Sunday the whole family will again attend another parade in Daphne, the Loyal Order of the Fire Truck Parade. Its going to be lots of fun! Cant wait to post pictures.
Oh yeah, and I almost forgot, the kids are loving Mardi Gras too, they are out of school next Monday and Tues... you dont get that just anywhere~
Happy Mardi Gras Everyone!

BOYS BOYS BOYS!!!

Wow! What a weekend.. For anyone who has boys, you can agree with me that there is never a dull moment. There are tons of times, I wonder, Why am I being punished for what my husband did as a child. See, this weekend, if it wasnt one thing, it was another. To start it off Sat, Jordan, the oldest, went with a friend to a skate park, and I need to mention that this skate park is 30 minutes from our house. Well, little to my knowledge the boys were being dropped off by the parents while they went another 30 minutes North, an hour away from home. The boys were to be at the skate park alone from 10:00 until around 4:00. Well, when I found out, which was around 1:00 I was not HAPPY! Jordan failed to tell me the details of the days trip, slipped his mind I guess. YEAH RIGHT! I may not have even known the boys were alone if I had not called the Mother of the other child. And to top that all off, my son, did not answer his cell phone when I called, reason being, someone had stolen it from the bench at the skate park!! GREAT!
Well, by Sunday that was old news, especially when I get a knock at the door by an upset neighbor that my son and three other boys had been "ding dong ditching" their house at 11:30 pm the night before and again that same morning around 10:00 am. Not only were they ringing the door bell and running they were throwing oranges at the people house and car. See, the boys know the little girl that lives there... well, can you say TROUBLE!! My oldest was in some more trouble, wow!! He says he didnt do it, that is was spend the night company that did, but come on, boys will be boys.. and if his friend did it that was spending the night, your just as guilty!
Anyways, the neighbor was not too upset and accepted Jordans apology and a statement that he would NEVER do it again! So, when Chad got home Sunday from Baseball evaluations, I wanted to slap him... for he is the reason our kids are so bad. Im sure of it! But oh well. Boys will be boys, and Im sure its not the last of it! I just have to keep smiling and saying that one day, they too will get paid back by their kids... hahahaha ... and As their kids Me Me, I will laugh! :)

Happy February!

I thought this was something everyone could use... so here goes!

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will.
You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too,
so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love
for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone
you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every
sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Don't be afraid that your life will end,
be afraid that it will never begin.

Friday Jan 30th

Well, another week has come and gone. Seems like so much has happened and have been so busy. At least during this past week, I have found THE Margi Gras dress, it was the third one I bought and is the perfect one! I guess the saying, Third Time is a Charm is correct, at least in this situation. The other two dresses I bought unfortunately cannot be returned but Im sure I can find somewhere to wear them. (I will do my best!)
Also this week, we have started replacing the floor in the dining room. Chad tore the carpet up last night and has half of the new flooring laid. I was not home to take before and after photos but will definately do that when he starts the living room/hallway. It looks like its not going to be difficult at all, so Im really excited about the new look its going to give. Maybe I will actually like this house for a little longer. If only I could add a whole new wing to it and a pool, I would Love it!
This week also kicked off the beginning of Baseball season. I am getting really excited about Baseball for both the boys. They will both start lessons with a popular local baseball trainer next Friday and we are thrilled about that too. Jordan really seems to LOVE baseball more than any other sport so we are going to do our best to help him excel. If it means, me taking a second job to afford a professional trainer, so be it! Hey, one day he may be the next Derek Jeter and can take care of Mommy! Who knows!
And Last but definately not LEAST, Deer Season ends Sat! YIPPIE!!!!! Finally, my man will be home with me on the weekends and just maybe we can spend some quality time together. I have missed him so much, that I am just beside myself that its finally coming to a close. However, what IF he is home on weekends and gets in My way? I have gotten used to him being gone, and being able to do whatever, whenever.... hmmmmm??? We may have to push golfing or something at least for a few hours... after all, we do have 3 freakin' sets of golf clubs!

Anyways, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and check out the post next week for some before and after photos of the house!!!

Until next time.....

Feel Happy Every Day by Living in the Moment

I found this today on the internet and thought was interesting...Im going to try and take the advice, thought you might enjoy it also!

The past is history.
The future is a mystery.
The only time we really have is now - just this moment.

ACTIVITIES TO PRACTICE LIVING IN THE MOMENT
Living in the moment takes practice because you are used to being distracted. Make a special effort to consciously practice being totally immersed in what you are doing for some time every day. Here are some ideas to get you started.
TAKE A BUBBLE BATH Play some soft music. Relax and feel the warmth of the water. Just think of how you are enjoying the moment.
DRIVE A DIFFERENT ROUTE TO WORK Get off the highway, and take the city streets to work. As you drive, notice the trees and houses as you pass through different neighborhoods. Going a different way will also help you concentrate on your surroundings.
EAT A GOURMET MEAL AT A FANCY RESTAURANT Set aside money for your special dinner so that you won't feel guilty about spending the money. You will experience living in the moment as you enjoy the total experience of the atmosphere, the service, the people you are with, and the delicious food.
PLAY A SPORT SUCH AS TENNIS You have to concentrate and be aware of everything that is happening at the moment. There isn't time to lament over the last shot because another one is coming right back at you.
DANCE TO YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC You will become immersed in the music as your body moves to it, and you will begin to feel vibrant and alive.
PLAY CARD GAMES When you play games such as bridge or poker, you have to concentrate or you risk losing the game.
ENJOY A CREATIVE HOBBY Painting, woodwork, or crafts will absorb all your attention as you focus on your creation.
TAKE A VACATION Vacations are rejuvenating and energizing because you are physically away from the day-to-day cares of living and totally immersed in sight seeing or other vacation activities.
LOOK AT THE FUNNY SIDE OF LIFE Notice how people who are always preoccupied with worry, resentment or other things don't usually have a sense of humor. Having a sense of humor requires living in the moment because you have to look all around for the funny things that are happening.
KEEP A JOURNAL At the end of each day, write about the moments when you were totally present. Every week review your journal. Doing this, will encourage you to concentrate on what you are doing. Eventually, living in the moment will become a habit that will add happiness, enthusiasm, and vitality to your days.

Good Things Coming

A friend of mine sent this to me today, and I would like to share with everyone who reads my blog. I think this is a very inspirational message and I would hope you all follow the advice.

“Faith is being sure of what we hope and certain of what we do not see”. (Hebrews 11:1).

It’s Important That You program your mind for success. If you dwell on positive thoughts, your life will move in that direction; if you continually think negative thoughts, you will live a negative life. If you expect defeat, failure, or mediocrity, your subconscious mind will make sure that you lose, fail, or sabotage every attempt to push above average.

You must think positive thoughts of victory, of abundance, of favor, of hope. Each day, you must choose to live with an attitude that expects good things to happen to you. Start your day with faith and set your mind in the right direction, then go out expecting the favor of God. Expect to excel in your career and rise above life’s challenges. Believe God for a great future. You have good things coming!

TGIF!!

Thank Goodness Its Friday! I've been looking forward to this day for a while. Im having a horrible hair week.. Im desperately due for highlights and cut. I wish I would have been more prepared I would have posted some before and after photos. Im thinking about getting it all cut off. I wish I had enough nerve!
Anyways, tonight is the GNO with some friends of mine. I cannot wait. The plans are for us to go out to eat Mexican and then go to see the movie, Bride Wars. Im looking forward to a relaxing night with the girls. Its long overdue.
Chad and Jordan will be leaving tonight to go to the hunting club. Im crossing my fingers my little man gets a deer. He has not taken one yet this year and is so anxious as there is only two weeks left in the deer season. He has had plenty of opportunity but has been holding out for a buck. I just hope its been worth the wait! Im pulling for you Jordan!
Gavin will go to a friends tonight and tomorrow he and I will spend the day together. Im thinking if its pretty taking him to down to Gulf Shores to the Track to ride the go carts. Its been a long time since we have done that and I know he would enjoy it. It will be a fun day, just the Beaver and I. I cant wait to spend some quality time with my buddy.
As for Sunday, Im hoping to start pulling up carpet in dining room. I want to have started so that Chad cant find an excuse to wait. You all know me, I want it done now, if not yesterday. Im not patient and the more I can do to get started, I will do it!
Now, if I can just get my neighbor down the street to put those paper bag floors in the boys room for me, I will be getting somewhere.. Im going to start on her next week about it!!
Im excited.. I will be posting pics of our progress...
I hope everyone has a happy, fun, and safe weekend!

Cant wait for the weekend!

Well, Thank goodness its Thursday. Its been a long week even though I was off work on Monday. Its going to be nice to have a GNO tomorrow night with some of my best buds; Renee, Jewels & Debbie.
Any who, Chad will be gone for another weekend to the HUNTING CLUB, with Jordan of course. I swear those two, eat, sleep and breath HUNTING!
If Chad gets another deer, I will have to invest in a deep freeze. We have a freezer full now!

Also, Im excited about the new project we are about to start at the house. We are going to replace all the carpet in the dining, living and hallway with hardwood floors. Chad is going to do it himself, so lets PRAY our marriage survives this little do-it-yourself project. I know from experience these type projects can cause many many fights and arguments! I plan on staying out of his way and not saying A WORD! I tend to become supervisor when these things go on, but not this time! I will be sure and post before and after pictures. I cant wait to get started. We just ordered today and should have wood in next week. YEAH!!!

Well, going home for the night, to see my precious boys... hope they didnt wreck the house too bad this afternoon after school....

Later!

HI EVERYONE!

Just wanted to see if I enjoyed blogging! Here goes!
Well, since Im new to this, I will try and start this for our family that lives out of town. Its going to be fun! I can already tell. I love this kind of stuff.

Well, nothing major is going on in the life of Jordan and Gavin right now. Jordan is doing well in school, making good grades and seems to be very organized. Says he is going to take all advanced classes in HS, so we will see. Gavin on the other hand is the social butterfly of the two. He is more concerned about having a good time than grades right now. Its gotten him in a little bit of trouble as his daddy has grounded him for a week. So, its going to be HELL on me keeping him in the house.

Both the boys are very active in sports and extra curricular activities. Which means Dad and I get wrapped up in them too! Again for another year, Chad and I are serving a position on the Daphne Dixie youth baseball board as the Publicity and Sponsorship chair. Its going good so far, everything is right on track. We start registration next Tues - and will be 4 nights during the next two weeks.

As most of you know, My hubby is a BIG hunter!! Well, I will be soooo glad when that slows down and baseball starts! I have missed him being home on the weekends and am ready to have some normallcy back in our lives.

Im going to try and figure out this blog so that I can post new pictures for the family out of town and they can keep up with us. It seems to be too hard to make phone calls these days.. With us being so busy and all!
